Samy H. Ibrahim is an energy and utility executive
consultant with extensive experience in operations, management and energy
delivery services. Currently, Samy serves the natural gas, LNG, and the power
industries in all aspects of business development, planning, permitting,
engineering, construction and operations.
Recently Samy lead Woodard & Curran’s Natural Gas
Engineering, Marketing and Service Lines, focusing on complex projects for both
new and existing natural gas and energy facilities. Woodard & Curran is a
leading consulting Engineering firm in the USA.
Samy was the Vice President of Business Development with Hess LNG where he
managed the development of a large LNG importing terminal and a combined heat
& power (CCGT) facilities in Shannon,
Ireland. He directed
the permitting, engineering, and site investigation work as well as assembling
the teams of engineering and consulting firms to support the development. Samy also
supported the development of supply and market analysis and led the
interconnection negotiations with local gas & electric transmission
companies. Samy also lead the development and the negotiation of Front End
Engineering and Design (FEED) and Engineering Procurement and Construction
(EPC) contracts for permitted terminal. Samy represented the organization in
meetings with public officials, the public and regulatory agencies and
supported the public relations efforts. Samy assured HS&E compliance and
kept up to date on knowledge of global and local LNG activities and energy
Samy served as the Vice President of Operations of NSTAR Gas, a gas
distribution company serving approximately 300,000 residential, commercial and
industrial customers in Massachusetts.
Samy completed the Graduate Program of Special Studies in Administration and
Management at Harvard University and holds B.S. and M.S. degrees in
Mechanical Engineering from Ain Shams University,
Cairo, and Northeastern
University, MA respectively.
Samy resides in the Greater Boston Area, Massachusetts
in the USA.
